Iran Claims Strike on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have intercepted missiles in their air space.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck sites associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a series of missiles," it added.
Officials reported debris landed in a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
